The closest international airport is Liberia , CR.  Casa Dos Playas and just about anywhere in Nosara is a 2.5 hour drive from Liberia airport.

There are a few commercial flights to the small Nosara airport which only takes about 45 minutes from Liberia and about an hour from San Jose but schedules may not align with your international flights. 

We recommend Miguel’s Taxi Shuttle service +506 8860-8444 or Terra Tours +506 8810-7506 in Nosara to pick up from Liberia and bring you directly to the house.  Cost is approximately $180/vehicle plus tip.

Rental Cars are found in Liberia or Nosara at National +506 8663-2512 or Economy Car Rental. +506 8333-5464.  They will both offer delivery of car to the house and pick up as well.

While you could get by without a car, we highly recommend guests have one at Casa Dos Playas because of its location between two beaches and near Garza. It is important to have a car to get supplies, get to Nosara, and visit neighboring beaches, restaurants, and other highlights of the area.

Walk out of the property gate to the right for a 6 minute walk to the famous Guiones Beach with its 4 mile long flat beach with multiple tidal pools at low tide and surf breaks 3 miles north.  This is where you will find the Guiones village of restaurants and shops.

You can walk this stretch of beach or bike or drive.  The daily ritual of watching the spectacular sunsets on Guiones is a requirement.  Garza offers beautiful sunset light as well.

Walk to the left 8 minutes to the gorgeous protected Garza Beach where you’ll see fishing and sail boats moored off shore and a lovely local village about 3/4 mile to the left. 

This beach also has great swimming at high tide and tidal pools at low tide.  And, of course, you have to stop for the best coffee in Costa Rica at Estrellitas cafe for incredible breakfasts & lunches… just a 4 minute walk from the house on the way to Garza Beach.

The closest grocery store and restaurant are just a 5 minute drive from house or 20 minute walk. 

Blue Garza is the best boutique organic store that sells everything you need with the exception of fresh fish at Alex’s Pescaderia, which is just a half mile down the road in the middle of  the Garza Village.

The most casual and delicious local restaurant is the wonderful Malacrianza right next door to Blue Garza. They are open for lunch and dinner.  Tell Gera and Mario you are our friends!

Cafe Estrellitas is a 5 minute walk to the left when you leave the house, it serves delicious vegetarian breakfast and lunch every day but Saturday.

• Cash (Dollars or Colones) is required for shuttle rides and tuk tuks.

• All businesses in Costa Rica use WhatsApp for communications so be sure you have the app on your phone.

• Cell service is quite good throughout the country but be sure you have an international plan with your phone provider.
